Ron was a confident outgoing man who worked as a toolmaker in his Father's business in Sydney. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed Golf and Fishing, and owned a boat for some years. When first married he had a house built at North Ryde and also bought a brand new 1964 EH Holden wagon.
