Biography

Twin sister of brother Timothy

Forth child of Samuel and Joanna (Goodman) Stanley. Baptized, with twin Timothy, on 18 November 1759 (actual birth date uncertain). Amelia (also known as Milly or Millee) married on 5 October 1781 to Allyn Seymour, son of Allyn and Elizabeth (Smith) Seymour of West Hartford, Conn.. Allyn (Amelia's husband) served in the Revolutionary War. The moved to Redfield, New York in 1802, where he died on 15 July 1829. Amelia died at Lenox, New York on 13 November 1846 at age eighty six. Allyn and Amelia (Stanley) had 8 children: Allyn Seymour (b. 10 October 1782, d. 15 October 1809), Ayers Seymour (b. 23 April 1784, d.?), Ralph Seymour (b. 11 October 1789, d. 6 January 1872; never married), Rodney Seymour (b. 19 December 1794, d. ?), Millee Seymour (b. 19 December 1786, d.?), Betsey Seymour (b. 13 April 1787, d.?), Ira Seymour (b. 26 August 1796, d. 17 August 1796-one day old), and Ira Seymour (baptized on 14 September 1797, date of birth unknown).
