Biography

Nathan Stanton was born 3 Apr 1732[1] at Stonington, Connecticut. He was the fifth and final child of Lois (Cobb), the second wife of Samuel Stanton.

He married Elizabeth Billings. They had 7 children:

  1. Lois (Stanton) Palmer (abt.1754-1817); b. 1754; married Asa Palmer
  2. Ebenezer Stanton (abt.1757-1811), b. abt. 14 Nov 1757; married Mary Smith
  3. Mary (Stanton) Denison (abt.1758-), b. abt. 5 Nov 1758; may have married ___ Denison
  4. Samuel Stanton (1760-1823), b. 1760; married 1) Mary Noyes; 2) Hannah Russell
  5. Edward Stanton (1763-), b. 3 Jul 1763
  6. Andrew Stanton (abt.1764-), b. 26 Aug 1764
  7. Elizabeth (Stanton) Noyes (abt.1765-), b. abt. 1765; married John B. Noyes

Capt. Nathan Stanton was lost at sea, 3 Jul 1786.
