Biography
Robert was born in 1945. He was the son of Frank Stasny and Elizabeth Erickson. He passed away in 2011.
Obituary
Robert L. Stasny born November 1, 1945 and passed away suddenly and peacefully of natural causes on April 19, 2011. He grew up in West Seattle, and graduated from West Seattle HS in 1963. He was an exceptional athlete. He played football for West Seattle High School, swam for Central Washington University and rowed Greenlake Crew. Robert set state records in swimming that were not broken for decades. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Seabee during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after completing his service to our country.
Robert earned a Masters from the University of Washington School of Architecture. From 1975 to 1985, Robert worked as a professional architect for a number of engineering and design firms in Seattle. From 1985 to present, he was employed by his own company, The Stasny Architects. He ran his company out of his home in the Wedgewood community. He was a very talented and well respected architect that received many awards over the years including a Seattle Times AIA 'Home of the Month' in 1983.
A proud and loving father, Robert is survived by his mother, 2 brother, 4 children and grandchildren.
Robert's warm smile, gentle way, overwhelming generosity, simple kindness, and unforgettable sense of humor will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in his memory. Robert's life will be celebrated with a vigil and funeral service. The viewing will be held at Beck's funeral Home, 405 5th Avenue South, Edmonds on Tuesday, April 26 from 5pm to 6:30pm. Prayer vigil will be immediately after viewing from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 8900 35th Ave NE, Seattle on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00am. He will be interred with military honors at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
