Steffen-2 and Steffens-565 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same men. There were errors in the profile of Steffen-2 that I corrected, and now they can be merged. They were called STEFFEN in Wisconsin, so I have proposed the merge with Birth Name STEFFENS and Current Name should be STEFFEN.

Hallo family Steffen in America.

I am running the Family-book of Schleidweiler - close to Trier - and typing in the family STEFFENS ( See please Nr. 553 with Catharina Reichertz Nr.224 .

Your Jakob Steffen is born on the same day as Jakob Steffens on 28.12.1838. May be he has emigrated to America. ( No hint is given in the church-book !
