Charles was born in 1828 in Horsham Sussex England.[1]
When Charles was about 25 he married Mary Stanford on 20 August 1853 in Horsham, Sussex, England. The couple had 9 children: Louisa Stenning, Henry Edward Stenning, Charles Stenning, Ellen Stenning, Elizabeth Stenning, Eliza Stenning, George Stenning, James Stenning and Rose Stenning.[2]
In the 1861 census Charles (age about 33) was living in Pulborough, Sussex, England.[3]
In the 1871 census Charles (age about 43) was living in Peasmarsh, Surrey, England.[1]
In the 1881 census Charles (age about 53) was living in Woking, Surrey, England.[4]
