Birth and Baptism

Louisa was born 18 December 1877 and christened on February 3, 1878 at Fittleworth, Sussex^[1].^[2]

Early Years

In 1881 Louisa was living in Fittleworth with her parents and brother James^[3][4]

In 1891 Louisa was living with her parents and younger brothers in Pulborough, Sussex^[5][6]

Marriage

Louisa Jane Stenning and William Henry Hopkins were married in Brighton April 2 1898. Both were single and aged 21. William was a paper hanger living at 35 Blackman Street. His father was William Hopkins (deceased), a Sailor. Louisa was living at 41 Blackman Street. Her father was Thomas Stenning, a Farm Labourer. Their witnesses were David Hopkins and Phylias Hopkins^[7]

In 1901 William and Louisa were living with their two young children in New Shoreham, Sussex at 22 Ship Street (Brooklyn). William was working as a House Decorator (paint)^[8]

In 1911 Louisa Jane and William Henry were living in Hove with their children Elsie and William. Louisa and William had been married for 13 years and had only the two children. Living with them were David Hopkins (William's brother?) and William Rendon^[9]
