Biography
Rhoda, daughter of Job and Mary (Prouty) Stetson, was born prior to 10 Feb 1744/5 at Scituate, MA and baptized there on February 10, 1744/5. (She is one of those slash year babies)
In 1762, above the age of 14 years, Rhode made the choice of David Stockbridge, Esq., of Hanover to be her guardian.[1]
She married Jehiel Simmons, as his second wife, on April 10, 1764.
Went to Hunger/Hungry Island, Lincoln Co. Maine
"Nov 9, 1764, Jehiel Simmons of Springfield, and Rhoda, his wife, sell to Malachi Stetson on fourth part in real estate in Scituate and land in Hanover which was set off to the children of Job Stetson as 'heirs to the estate of our grandfather, William Stetson late of Scituate, deceased"
