James Alexander Stevenson, son of Robert H. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Stevenson, was born 16 June 1882^[1] in the 3rd Ward, Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Township, Kent County, Michigan; died of cardiac tamponage caused by a ruptured aneurysm of the aortic arch, 30 October 1943^[2] at the Los Angeles Ship Yards, San Pedro, Los Angeles Township, Los Angeles County, California. Social Security number 568-14-4819, issued in California. He married, 2 June 1906^[3] in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, Adeline McGrath, daughter of Thomas H. and Amelia (Charters) McGrath. Adeline was born in July 1871 in Illinois; died 18 January 1954^[4] at Los Angeles County General Hospital, 1200 North State Street, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Township, Los Angeles County, California. She had previously married, 26 January 1903 in Cook County, James Shaunessy (born circa 1866). She was buried 30 January 1954^[5] at Valhalla Cemetery, North Hollywood, Los Angeles County. James was cremated 2 November 1943^[6] at Pacific Crest Crematory, 2701 182 Street, Redondo Beach, Los Angeles County, California.
