He is noticed in Ferguson's work[1] in the Marriage Register of the Scots Brigade when his daughter is contracted to marry, 17 Jan 1717, Ensign William MacLeod.
He is stated to be Reduced Lieutenant John Stevenson, of General Murray's Regiment.
He appears on the Pension List after the Peace of Utrecht and on list from 1717 (thus the Reduced status).[2]
He, and his wife, not named, appear often on the Communion Rolls of General Murray's Regiment at Courtrai and then Ypres, between 1714 and 1718 and seems to have been held to Headquarters staff.[3] Neither he, or his wife, appear in 1720 at Tournay. His wife, stated to be a widow, appears on the Roll of 18 Mar 1722.[4] She remains with the Regiment until March 1725 at least.
