Zilpah was born in 1793. She was the daughter of Solomon Steward and Betsey Bigelow.
(Bloomfield is an extinct town, now part of Skowhegan in Somerset County, Maine. Bloomfield was organized from a portion of Canaan in 1814. Bloomfield annexed land from Fairfield in 1858. Bloomfield was annexed to Skowhegan in 1861).
During the Civil War she exchanged letters with her nephew, Lieutenant Henry K. Steward, which is mentioned in the diary he kept during the war. [1]
She passed away in 1878. Burial: Southside Cemetery, Skowhegan, Somerset County, Maine.[2]
