Biography

Janet Stirling is a member of Clan Stirling.

Janet was the daughter of William Stirling^[1] and Margaret Crichton.

She married David Bruce, of Clackmannan and Rait.^[1] They had a son:

1. Robert^[1]

Janet died before 11 Sep 1497.

Research Notes

• DOB: Her son Robert married about 1484 placing his birth about 1470 and her marriage about 1469, this, in turn, places her birth before 1457.

• DOD: Her husband married Mariota Herries before 11 Sep 1497 when a life-rent was reserved in a charter of that date, so Janet was certainly deceased by then. Looking further, one sees that Margaret, a product of that second marriage, was mentioned in a deed in 1477 placing the marriage before 1476.
