Noel Streatfeild is Notable.

Acclaimed author, Noel Streatfeild, is probably best known for her children's book, Ballet Shoes, published in 1936, about the three adopted Fossil sisters, Pauline, Petrova, and Posy.[1] Streatfeild was born 24 December 1895 in Frant, Sussex, to Church of England Clergyman, Rev. William Champion Streatfield and Janet Mary Venn.[1][2]

The second of five children (one of whom died in infancy), Streatfeild grew up in Amberley St Leonard's and was educated at Hastings and St Leonard's Ladies' College.[1] [3] By the time she was fifteen, her father had taken up a new appointment at a church in Eastbourne, and Streatfeild began at Laleham School.[1] [4]
