Coffee County TennesseeCourt Loose Papers Volume XXII

-8 Aug 1882: Dep. of A. Jacobs says he and William Arnold bought the dower lands belonging to the estate of John Arnold, dec'd. Lists 9 original heirs: Tabitha Bains, Lucy Lee, Leonora Norton, Elizabeth Moore, Nancy Gaither, Matilda Duncan, and John and William Arnold, and Mary Gregory. ...Annie Jacobs dau. of Matilda Duncan.

-30 May 1883: Dep. of John Arnold, 62, says he is son of John Arnold, Sr., dec'd. he says there are nine original heirs: same as previously listed; 1. Elizabeth Moore is dead and left children. 2. Lucinda Lee is dead and left four children: Betty Ann who married Robert Patton, Nancy who married Lafaverly Street, who died and left children, John Lee, Nancy who married Patrick Wilson--[This is a mistake because it was Amanda Lee who married Patrick Wilson] 3. Matilda Duncan is dead and left four children: Ana, Marshall, Elizabeth and Eveline. Ana is married W.F. Jacobs and is dead and left five children: John, Robert Stokely, Henry, Harvey, and Anna. John is dead and left two children: Martha and Anna. 4. Nancy Gaither is dead and left children. 5. Mary Gregory is dead and left four children: Lucy, Mary Ann, Malissa and Eveline. 6. Tabitha Bains is dead and left children. 7. William Arnold is dead and left four children: 8. Polly Ann who married Lee Dye, John, Harvey, and 9. Elizabeth who married Newton Ogle.

NOTE: I believe this Lafaverly to be William L. Street who married Nancy J. Lee in Coffee Co. TN in 1847. Lawson Street's middle name is Lafayette, which gives me a clue that the "L" in William L Steet's name may be Lafaverly or Lafayette. Lawson Street's middle name was Lafayette as proven on his marriage record in Stoddard Co. MO, February 17, 1881. Also another clue that this Nancy is the daughter of Grissom and Lucy Lee is that one of their girls is named Lucy same as Nancy's mother.
