Biography

Suzie was born about 1890, based on information found in her marriage record which states she was 21 years of age, leading to an estimated year of birth of 1890. Please adjust as more is learned.

In the 1910 census,^[1] Susie Strong is living on Second Avenue in Garnett, Anderson, Kansas, with her parents, John W. Strong and Martha Strong in Garnett, Anderson, Kansas. She is 20 years of age, single, and the mother of a six-month-old son named Arthur D. Strong. Her parents have been married for 22 years, and Martha has given birth to 12 children, of whom six were then living. Her father works as a stonemason.

Suzie married John A. Tipton on 18 Oct 1911 in Anderson, Kansas.^[2]

In the 1920 census,^[3] the family is living at 48 East Second Street. John A. Tipton is the head of household, and a widowed Mr. Strong is living at the same address but apparently in an apartment. There are now four children including a ten-year-old Donald Tipton.
