Biography
Jacob was born in 1873. He was the son of Joseph Strong and Jessie McDonald.
Jacob married Margaret Jane Mitchell in 1901.
He passed away in 1902. Jacob died as a result of an accident in Cambridge. He was in the employ of his brother-in-law, William Chapman Morgan, when he was run over by a wagon of chaff that he had been driving. His wife was left a widow with one young child (a daughter, Margaret Jessie Strong).
A headstone was placed in Hautapu Cemetery where he was interred, but he is also remembered on a memorial at Bombay Presbyterian Cemetery.
