Rachel Strope was run off the family farm by Nathaniel leaving her son Charles Isaac McNeal . Charles is raised by his grandfather Nathaniel as Charles (Charley) Strope per the family.
Notes
In the 1925 New York census, available on Ancestry, it looks like Rachel is living with her ex husband, their mutual children and her new husband. Charles McNeal is not with them.
