Biography

Son of John French Strother b: 1745 Rev.and Nancy Anne Strother b: 1755 in , Culpeper, Virginia

George resided with his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Wade Strother, having lost his parents in his youth. At age 18 he served in the army in the Whiskey Rebellion in western Pennsylvania. He went to Bourbon, KY, in 1796, and Trimble, KY, in 1802, where he was a Methodist minister.

George made a number of trips back to Virginia researching his family, as did his grandson, son John's son, Henry Strother a resident of Fort Smith Arkansas.^[1]
