Thomas Stroud was born in 1736 in Brunswick, Virginia, his father, William, was 36 and his mother, Margaret, was 34. He married Sarah Moss on March 24, 1763, in Granville, North Carolina. They had one child during their marriage. He died in 1783 in Wilkes, Georgia, at the age of 47.
Wife Sarah was appointed administrator of his estate on 23 Aug 1783 in Wilkes, GA. An inventory of his property was made on 10 Nov 1783; the estate sale was held on 10 Feb 1784. William Moss was the sole buyer of his 330 acres, cattle and household goods.
