Biography

Daniel was born a twin in 1836. He was the son of Thomas Sullivan and Mary O'Shea. Daniel was Baptised 18th May 1837 Immigration Details Air/Port Landed: Sydney Ship/Plane: Strathfieldsaye Year Arrived: 1836

The latest to 'pass over the bar of death' is Mr. Daniel Sullivan of Bodangora. The sad event occurred at Montefiores, last Friday, at the house of Mrs. Brennan, daughter of the deceased, he having been brought near town so as to be within easier access of medical help. The cause of death was cancer, the most virulent form of which had long since claimed the deceased as a victim.
.... He was a native of Ireland, but came to Australia with his parents when only a child in arms, and was thus 62 years of age at the time of his death. His father and mother settled at Montefiores and built one of the first houses in this old part of the town, and it is a coincidence that Mr. Sullivan should have died in a cottage erected on the site of this old-time building.
.... He leaves eight or nine children and is survived by his wife and his two brothers— James and Thomas — and his sister, Mrs. William Tobin of Bourke.
.... Amongst the children of deceased are Joseph, William, Daniel, Thomas and Charles, and amongst others who are left to sorrow the loss of their relative are his cousins, Mrs. Clifford, of Wellington, and Mr. O'Shea, of Montefiores.^[2]
