August was born in 1885. He was the son of Jakob Johansson.

In the 1920 census August (age 33) was the single head of household in Detroit, Mason County, Washington, United States.[1]

August died (age 91) on 17 July 1977 in Mason, Washington, United States.[2]

August was mentioned in the obituary of his daughter Dorothy Myrtle Tobey on 1 April 2006 in Bremerton, Washington, United States.[3] Other parent of Dorothy was listed as Anna or Annie Elisabet Damskata Sund, 1896-1962.
