Biography

Sarah Jane Sutherland's date and place of birth comes from her marriage record to John C. McKisson on 9 June 1943 in Lucas County, Ohio, USA (probably in Toledo). ^[1] At the time of their marriage, John McKisson was an Army Officer. Born in Toledo in May of 1917, he was the son of Henry W. McKisson and Dorothy Freeman.

In the 1940 U.S. Census (the last one before her marriage), Sarah Jane, age 21, was living with her widowed father, William G. Sutherland, and her older brother, William G. Jr., in Toledo, Ohio, USA. ^[2]

Sarah Sutherland McKisson died on 5 March 1976 and was buried on 8 March 1976 in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio, USA. ^[3] Her dates of birth and death are carved on the gravestone. ^[4]
