Biography

Joseph Hines Swain was born January 29, 1823 in Coosa County, Alabama. His parents were William Swain and Mary Cato.

He married Elizabeth Tunnell in 1843 in Coosa, Alabama. Later, the Census of 1870 shows her no longer in the household, now in Texas.

Joseph married Delilah Miranda (Crocker) Hardin, a widow, on 23 Oct 1870 in Smith County, Texas.

Joseph died September 2, 1898 in Van Zandt County, Texas.

I just added his second wife, and that profile has a duplicate as well.

I've indicated the match. So many duplicates and can't get them merged & cleaned up.

Swain-1947 and Swain-799 appear to represent the same person because: the records are identical. Swain 1947 contains more information than Swain-799 however you can tell they are one and the same based on the dates.
