Mariam was born in 1696, the daughter of Benoni and Elizabeth (Manchester) Sweet (some records refer to her as Mary).
She married first Elisha Sherman, son of Eber and Mary (Wilcox) Sherman, in 1715 at North Kingston, Washington, Rhode Island - they had one son, Benoni Sherman.
After the death of Elisha, she married John Remington, son of Thomas and Mary (Allen) Remington - their children were John and Joshua Remington.
