Biography

Alfred was born in 1893 on Portsea Island, Hampshire. He is the son of Alfred and Sarah Swindells. ^[1]

He was a Fitter and Turner by trade.

He married Elsie Eugenie Hewitt on 3 Apr 1920 in Chichester, West Sussex.

He emigrated in from Southampton, via Wellington, arriving in Portland, Northland, on 19 Feb 1925.

In 1954 he married Nellie Ker.

Alfred died in Tauranga in 1978. He was buried in the Kamo Public Cemetery, Northland, which is where his father was buried.
