Deirdre Babette Antill Swinton (married name Milne) was born on 31 October 1921 in Scone, New South Wales, Australia, the daughter of Dorothy Clair (Campbell) Swinton and Edward Arthur Swinton.^{[1] [2]}

She married Alan Douglas Milne in April 1943 in Armidale, New South Wales.^[2][3] Their children were:^[2]

• Babette Rosemary Milne (1945–2016)
• Four more children

Alan died in June 2000.^[2][4]

Deirdre died on 20 December 2003 in Dural, New South Wales.^[2]
