Biography

Peter was born in 1836 in High Walton, Cheshire. He was the son of Peter Swinton. and Mary. [1][2]

Census UK 1841: 6 June 1841 in Weaverham, Northwich, Cheshire, England, Acton. Note: was age 5.[3]

Census UK 1851: 30 March 1851 in Monks Coppenhall, Nantwich, Cheshire, England, Crewe. Note: was age 14 and the son of the head of the household.[4]

When Peter was about 23 he married Sarah Griffin in about February 1859 in Manchester, Lancashire, England. The couple had 7 children: Clara Evangle Swinton, Walter Peter Swinton, Thomas Henry Swinton, Nelly Frances Swinton, Joseph William Swinton, John Charles Swinton and Sarah Florence Swinton.[5]
