Biography

William Swymmer was baptised 15 February 1672/3 at the church of St Augustine the Less, Bristol, son of William Swymmer merchant and his wife Elizabeth.^[1]

He was married to Mary Lane at St Augustine the Less, 7 September 1697.^[2]

He made his will, as William Swymmer of Bristol, merchant, 10 November 1725 and named his late father William and late brother Anthony Swymmer; his brother Henry Swymmer; his sisters the Lady Elizabeth Daines and Anne Swymmer; his sons Anthony, Henry and William Swymmer; his daughters Mary Swymmer and Betty the widow of Mr Samuel Kentish deceased; William Swymmer son of John Swymmer of Padstow, Cornwall; and Elizabeth Jordan of Bristol, widow. The will was proved at London 9 May 1726.^[3]

He was buried at St Augustine the Less, 18 March 1725/6.^[4]
