Report of Wedding, Melbourne Punch May 26 1892 p12: "VAUX-SYNNOT The marriage of Miss Lucy Synnot, daughter of the late Mr Monkton Synnot, with Mr William E Vaux, son of the late Mr William Vaux, of the Coins Department, British Museum, London, took place last Friday evening at Holy Trinity Church, St Kilda, the ceremony being performed by the Rev Stanley Lowe. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr Marcus[sic] Synnot, and wore a pretty gown of white silk, made with a full high bodice, and trimmed with chiffon; large hat, with white ostrich plumes. The bridesmaids were Miss Mary Synnott - sister of the bride, and Miss Tosty Synnot, niece of the bride. Both wore pretty frocks of cream cashmere and silk, and stylish hats with white ostrich feathers. The Rev. Lyttleton Fitzgerald supported the bridegroom. After the ceremony the guests drove to "Ballantrae" the residence of Mr Marcus Synnott, where musical evening was spent... "
