Géza Stephan Szántó aka Santow was born on 1st September 1906 at Budapest, Hungary. He was a son of Ferenc "Francis" Szántó and Gisella Mesey. He was the older brother of Holocaust victim, Hungarian Judge Imre Szántó. The Szántó family were of Hungarian Jewish descent.
Géza married divorcee, Doctor Vivian Porch nee Finlay about 1938 in Budapest, Hungary. They had one son, Kim Santow, together, however divorced afterward.
Géza and Vivian emigrated to New South Wales, Australia, prior to the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. Géza became a noted surgeon and obstetrician in New South Wales.
He married a second time, to Marjorie Spence, in 1949 at North Sydney, New South Wales.[1]
Géza passed away on 4th June 1971 at St Leonards, New South Wales and was buried in Rookwood Catholic Cemetery.[2]
