Biography
Eric was born in about 1900 possibly at Tallangatta in Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Alfred Tabor and his wife Blanche (nee Anderson).
Private Eric Frank Tabor enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 5 March 1918. His Next of Kin was listed as his Mr Alfred Tabor of 14 Steele Street, Moonee Ponds, Victoria. Eric a Salesman and resident of Moonee Ponds, Victoria listed his previous Military Service as having served for 4 years in Senior Cadets. He was initially assigned to the 4th General Service Reinforcements (Egypt) (Victoria). And his unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A15 Port Sydney on 17 August 1918. He would go on to serve as a Private with the 4th Light Horse Regiment in Egypt, and returned to Australia on the 15 June 1919 before being discharged on the 9th of August 1919.
Eric Tabor is an Anzac who served in World War One.
He had commenced his return to Australia on board HT 'Essex', 15 June 1919. Was disembarked at Melbourne on the 25 July 1919 and discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Melbourne, 9 August 1919.
He passed away in about July 1970 and is buried at the Port Fairy Cemetery, Port Fairy, Victoria, Australia.
