Jane was born in 1847 to Thomas Taggart and Martha Kingsbury in Ireland. In about 1861, they immigrated to the US and settled in Xenia, Ohio.
In about 1867, Jane married Robert Davidson. They had six children, all born in London, Ohio.
In 1927, Jane passed away in London.

LONDON, O., March 8. — Mrs. Jane Taggart Davidson, 83, sister of Thomas Taggart, Democratic political leader of Indiana, died at her home in this city shortly after midnight this morning. She had been in iII health for some time.
Mrs. Davidson was born in Ireland but came to America with her family at an early age, the family settling at Xenia, where Mrs. Davidson lived until 60 years ago, when she came to London, after marrying Robert Davidson.
Her husband for many years was the proprietor of the Davidson Hotel here, after giving up active farming. He died in 1899. Besides the brother, Tom Taggart of Indianapolis, six children. Thomas Davidson, Okmulgee, Okla.; Robert and Samuel Davidson, Mrs. Lizzie Armstrong, Mrs. May Crawford and Miss Jennie Davidson, all of London, and three sisters, Mrs. Samuel Wolff, Mrs. lsaac Scoles and Mrs. Cheney Cretors, all of Springfield, survive. A number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.
