John Tait, son of Robert Tait and Margaret Gray, was born about 1804 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 31 March 1804.[1]
John was named as the father of John Tait in the latter's 1847 birth and baptism record.[2]
In 1851 John was living in Watten with his wife and sons Robert, William and John at a location known as Newton in the parish of Watten. John's trade was mason.[3]
