Ada is listed in the 1930 U.S. Census as a 39 year old married negro woman living with her husband, two sons, three daughter, and her parents in Police Jury Ward 3, Rapides, Louisiana. Her year of birth is estimated as 1891. The family lives in a rented house on a farm, where Mose and Isaac work as farmers. The census indicates Ada was 15 when she married Isaac. She is able to read and write.[1]
