Background
Lynnette Huia Tatton was the only daughter and child of Charles Huia Tatton and Olive Hazel Melvin. She was born on 20 August 1931.
Marriage and family
On 6 June 1953 she married John Walter Stanley Paul at the Diocesan Girl's School Chapel, Auckland, with issue two sons.

In 2002 she registered with Tainui, Lynnette Huia Paul - Hapuu: Ngaati Mahuta; Principle Marae: Waahi; Number: 815502.
Genealogist
As a keen genealogist she did much research and work with other whanau (family).
In November 2002 she posted in the Te Reo Maori Interest Group Newsletter, Special Interest Group of the NZ Society of Genealogists, regarding research names: Betty Hineraria/Hinerehia, Potatau Te Wherowhero, James, Jane, Margaret, Isabella, and [William] James Whitaker, of Whangaroa, time period 1800-1925.[1]
Friendships
She had correspondence with Marc Whitaker from 21 Oct 2004. Marc remembers with affection his visits to her home in Howick, Auckland, where she was the most welcoming and generous hostess.
Another contact she made was with the Kendall family, descendants of Potatau Te Wherowhero's sister, whose whanau are registered with Tainui.
Residences
Her residence was at 90 Sandspit Road, Howick, Auckland 1705.
Death and burial
She died on 9 December 2014 at Highlands Retirement Village, Auckland, aged 83. Her Funeral Service was held at All Saints Selwyn Church, Selwyn Road, Howick, on 16 December 2014. She rests on the lower slopes of Mount Taupiri with the direct descendants of King Koroki.[2]
