Research Notes
Detached Mary as a second spouse, due to conflation & removed the death date 7 Oct 1905 in New Elvet, Durham, England
The man who died 7 Oct 1905 isn't this James Taylor. He was born in St Margarets, Durham, England, and while they basically had the same professions (masonry), the one living in New Elvet was also a builder.
He married Mary Douthwaite in 1867 in Durham, Durham, England, and can be followed through census records from that point onward. They had two children, Jane in 1868 & Ann in 1873. Ann is the daughter who was named in the Probate record listing the date of death, 7 Oct 1905 at 23 New Elvet, Durham. The family can still be found living together without James in the 1911 census.

Died 7 Oct 1905 in Durham, England.
TAYLOR James of 23 New Elvet Durham died 7 October 1905 Probate Durham 11 November to Annie Taylor spinster Effects £878 12s. 1d.
Since both families can be found in different locations in the 1891 census, it's not possible these are the same people.
In the 1911 census his age was overstated by 2 years (1827 instead of 1829), but this was consistent throughout other census years, ranging between 1827-1833.
There is no evidence of this James Taylor in the 1911 census. It's likely he died near his last known location in Lancashire.
