Occupation: surveyor.
Note: Surveyed Overton Ctty. in 1825; Arrested Feb. 15, 1843 for assault & battery. on Joshua Wright (similarly arrested and convicted); Son George Washington. Taylor posted $30 bail; Son PLeasant paid $1 fine (source=Fentress ctty. records); Son of George per records of Mrs. R.H. Taylor (Virginia A. Taylor).
The 1850 census for Fentress County, TN includes two separate entries for a "Pleasant Taylor." It is not entirely clear to me which of these is Taylor-46048.
One entry lists family members: Isaac (65); Agnes(60); Pleasant (32) and Catherine (86). That's consistent with Pleasant's parentage and grandmother as I know them.
The other entry lists family members: Pleasant (41); Martha (39); Martala (12); Catherine (10); Joseph(8); Diadama(5); Martha (2) and Berry (3/12). This entry matches of the the DOB on Pleasant's headstone.
Also, the 1860 census matches fairly well with the latter of the two above, and includes an Isaac (76).
I question if maybe both 1850 census entries are correct, with the first entry having been compiled prior to 1850.
