John was born on 6 May 1900. He was the son of John Taynton and Eliza (Longhurst) Taynton. John's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1900 in the St Saviour Southwark London district.^[1]

In the 1911 census John (age 10), School, was the son of John Taynton at 4 Thorne St, S Lambeth S W, Lambeth, London, England.^[2]

John passed away after 1938. In 1938, he was living at 53 Thorncroft Street Kennington/Lambeth, London with his mother Eliza and sister Ada and her husband John Murphy.^[3]
