Biography
Charles Hamilton Teeling born about 1778, the second son of Luke Teeling, a linen merchant at Lisburn, Co. Antrim, and his wife Mary (née Taaffe).
His activities brought his arrest, aged only 17, with several others for high treason (16 September 1796), but he was released on bail the following year without being brought to trial, remaining free during and after the United Irish rebellion (1798).
Charles married in 1802 to Margaret Carolan, of Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan. [1]
they had seven sons and two daughters.
Children included:
- Mary married in 1836 to Thomas O'Hagan
- Alicia or Adelaide married George Waters, MP for Mallow 1870-72
- Bartholomew died before his father
- Charles George
Charles Hamilton Teeling died 14 Aug 1848.[2]
