The Piedmont Herald, Jan 30, 1891- - Mrs Agnes Wilson, mother of Wm Wilson, Sr, died at Elk Garden, January 23, 1891, aged 81 years. Grandmother Wilson was born in Armaugh County, Ireland and came to this country in 1872. She first came to the Moscow Mine and in 1884 came to Elk Garden. She first became a member of the established church of Scotland, and afterwards of the United Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Upon her removal to Elk Garden, she became a member of the Presbyterian Church there. The remains were buried in Elk Garden Cemetery.
