Mary Terrell was born April 19, 1772, in Orange county, Virginia, a daughter of Reuben Terrell and Mildred Walker. Mary's father died in 1776, and in 1778, her mother married Jesse Wood. Ten years later, on October 9, 1788, in Albemarle county, Virginia, Mary married John Wood, a son of Isaac Wood. [1]
John's father served in the Albemarle county Militia, during the American Civil War and is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A127976. Descendants of Mary and John are eligible for membership in the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution. [2] Children of Mary and John were born in Albemarle county, Virginia and include:
