Joseph Terrien was born on December 23, 1786 in Saint-Gervais, Province de Québec, son of Joseph Terrien and Marie Louise Vallières.
Joseph (25) married Marie Françoise Forgues (18) on August 17, 1812 in Saint-Gervais, Bas-Canada. Their children were:
- Marie Louise Terrien (1821–1895).
Joseph died on February 15, 1868 in Saint-Gervais, Québec, Canada, aged 81.
