Arthur Testerman was born in Appalachia, in North Carolina.

When James Arthur Testerman was born on 28 November 1881, in Silas Creek, Ashe, North Carolina, United States, his parents were Carson Testerman and Rhoda Senter.[1]

James had two (2) wives before Latisha. In 1910, he lived with his first wife and three (3) chiildren: Celia, Minnie, Treely and Warth. Robert was born in 1912.[2]

In 1915, Celia died, and James married Dora Jones, and they had one (1) child: Vivian.[3]

He married Latisha Frances Thompson on 11 December 1919, in Christiansburg, Montgomery, Virginia, United States.[4]

They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters:

James Arthur Testerman-1923–1999[6]

In 1920, James and Latisha lived in McDowell, West Virginia, United States with his children from the deceased wife's children and one (1) of their own, Daisy.[9]

In 1930, they lived in Northfork, McDowell, West Virginia, United States.[10]

In 1940, they lived in Elkhorn Magisterial District, McDowell, West Virginia, United States.[11]

He died on 8 April 1942, in Helton, Ashe, North Carolina, United States, at the age of 60,[12] and was buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, Mercer, West Virginia, United States.[13]

All three (3) sons were in WWII with one (1) son receiving the Victory Medal.[14][15][16]
