Biography
Willean Teston Merritt, 68, born September 2, 1928, of Bristol, died, June 24, 1997, at the residence of her daughter in Nahunta.
A native of Coffee County, she was a daughter of the late Ben J. Teston and Georgia Varnadore Teston and was the widow of Roy Merritt. She had worked in food service.
Survivors are a daughter, Linda Morgan of Nahunta; a son, William Hersey of Gray; a sister, Anna Lee Wright of Douglas; two brothers, Julian Teston of Hazelhurst and I. L. Teston of Waycross; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Raybon Church of God with Rev. Ronald Sharpe officiating. Music was by the Sharpe Family.
Burial was in Burkett Church Cemetery at West Green.
Pallbearers were Den J. Hursey, David Hursey, Mike Hendrix, and Matt Morgan Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
