Rilla was Citizen Potawatomi.

Research Notes

Aurelia's name is also spelled as "Aurilla" based on an interview in the CPN archives, however; her name is listed as Aurelia "Tetro" in the more contemperaneous marriage record. Several variations of her last name are found on historical records. Tetreau is most likely the correct spelling based on the French influence and other more contemperaneous records.

Her date of birth is listed as October 24, 1836 in her obituary. It is listed as October 3, 1936 in the CPN interview, and 1839 on her grave marker. From information on her Find A Grave page, author unknown:

"Married 11 Feb 1855, Basil Nadeau (born about 1836, Canada, died 28 Apr 1895, Fawn River, St Joseph, Michigan; burial place not known). Some suggest she is the daughter of Theophile Tetreau and Celeste Morin. Some first name variations: Aurelia, Rillie, Rilla, Orvilla. Some last name variations: Tatrow, Tatereau, Tetro, Tatro."

From her obituary transcript posted on FindAGrave: "She leaves eight children - George of Parksville, Mich.; Gilbert and Fred, and Mrs. Alice Cranfil of Oklahoma; Andrew and Mrs. Belle Allen of South Bend, Ind.; Alfred of Minnesota and Mrs. Edward Miller, of this city."
