Joseph E Thatcher was born about 1831 in Adams, Monroe, Ohio to parents Absalom Thatcher and Isabell Hedges. He married Sarah M Baker on 22 Jan 1852 in Clark, Ohio. Children: Mary E, Fanny, Elizabeth, Flora, Lidia, Ada C. He died on 24 Apr 1889 in Pierceton, Kosciusko, Indiana.
