Biography

Sarah was born on 26 September 1671 in Hingham. She was the child of John Thaxter and Elizabeth Jacob. [1]

She married (1) Nathaniel Holmes of Boston on 1 Oct 1691.[2] Two children.

She married (2) John Cushing Jr. on 18 Mar 1714. He was born on 28 Apr 1662 in Scituate, Plymouth Co., MA, and died on 19 Jan 1738 in Scituate. He was the son of Col. John Cushing and Sarah Hawke. Two children

The children of Sarah and John Cushing include:

  1. Josiah Cushing (29 Jan 1714/5-11 Dec 1793) [3]
  2. Mary Cushing (24 Oct 1716-5 Sep 1751) [4][5][6]

Sarah passed away on 13 January 1741/42.

Probate

On 26 May 1742, John Holmes of Scituate and Nathaniel Holmes of Boston were granted the administration of her estate.[7]

Her death date is recorded in the heading of her inventory which was taken on 11 February 1741/42 in Scituate.[8] Additional inventory was taken on 18 May 1742.[9]
