Rebecca Miller Thayer was born August 6, 1758, in Braintree, Massachusetts, a daughter of Colonel (Honorable) Ebenezer Thayer and his second wife, Rebecca Miller. [1] Rebecca's father served as an officer during the American Revolutionary War and became a member of the Provincial Congress and the General Court. He is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A113962.
On October 22, 1777, Rebecca married Lieutenant Edmond M. Soper, Jr. was born January 24, 1759, in Braintree, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay, a son of Edmond M. Soper, born 1731, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Edmond's father was a Member of the Third Provincial Congress of the United and is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A107082.
