Biography

William was Choctaw.

William Thompson was born 8 Nov 1875 in Texas to William Thompson and Sarah (Estes) Thompson.^[1]

He married Maude Bateman 15 Mar 1899 in Carter, Oklahoma, United States.^[2] Children of Maude and William:

1. Baby Thompson 1900–1900
2. Lois Louise Thompson 1905–1973
3. Eunice Jewell Thompson 1908–Deceased
4. William Clyde Thompson 1912–Deceased

The family moved to the Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Though the efforts of his father Choctaw citizenship was restored in 1909.^[3][4]

He died 13 Apr 1921 in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Research Notes

His middle is often stated as "Clyde" but "Candus" on military records.
