Biography

Sarah was born in May 1840 in the Bahamas.^[1] Her parents remain unidentified.^[2]

She married first Thomas Cash on 9 April 1857 in Key West, Florida, in a ceremony performed by Peter Crusoe, Justice of the Peace.^[3]

She married second John Thomas Russell Jr. on 12 January 1861 in Key West in a ceremony performed by Peter Crusoe, Justice of the Peace.^[4]

Sarah is last of record in the 1900 census in Key West,^[5] and she died there before 1910.^[6] She is most likely buried there in the City Cemetery.

2. ↑ She is a fairly close match to the Sarah Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of Thomas Thompson and Lavinia Elizabeth Cash, who was born on Harbour Island on 20 September 1839. The 1900 census birth dates are often incorrect, but there is currently no other evidence for the identification than the coincidence of names and closeness of ages.
